The Buffalo Bills parted ways with punter Sam Martin on Thursday as the team looks to trim their salary cap.
With this move, the Bills created nearly $2 million in salary cap space.
Martin, 35, had been with Buffalo for three seasons. In 2024, he recorded a net average of 39.8 yards per punt, ranking 24th in the NFL. He also placed 25 punts inside the 20-yard line, tying for 16th.
Jake Camarda, who signed a reserve-futures contract on January 8, is the only punter currently in Buffalo’s organization. He was a fourth-round pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2022.
If the Bills stick with Camarda, his $1.1 million salary is less than half of what Martin was set to earn in 2025.
