The Seneca County Arts Council and Artworks Gallery are inviting art enthusiasts to explore the vibrant world of alcohol inks at a special workshop on Saturday, April 12. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Seneca Falls Recreation Center, located at 35 Water Street.
Led by Artworks Gallery artists Mary Ketchen and Sylvia Papperman, the workshop is designed for both beginners and experienced artists interested in this dynamic medium. For those new to alcohol inks, the instructors will provide basic supplies and step-by-step guidance. More seasoned artists are encouraged to bring their own materials and share techniques with fellow attendees.
Participants should bring an apron, surgical gloves, old toothbrushes, fine art paint brushes, and canned air to fully engage in the creative process. The workshop is free, with donations to SCAC and Artworks Gallery encouraged. Registration is required by April 5, and those interested can sign up by contacting Sylvia Papperman at (315) 568-6561 or [email protected], or Mary Ketchen at (585) 451-4362 or [email protected].
The Artworks Gallery, which is operated by volunteers, is open Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Those planning a visit are encouraged to call ahead at (315) 257-0201 to ensure the gallery is staffed.
