Geneva City Council to discuss property sales, infrastructure projects this week

  • Staff Report

Geneva City Council will meet Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in City Hall’s second-floor council chambers to address a busy agenda, including property sales, financial updates, and infrastructure improvements.

The meeting will begin with a public hearing on the sale of city-owned properties, followed by proclamations recognizing Sam Nordquist and Women’s History Month. Comptroller Adam Blowers will present the 2024 financial report, and City Manager Amie Hendrix will deliver recommendations from the Storm Task Force.

Discussions will cover changes to the council’s size and a request for city staff information. Council members will review meeting minutes from previous sessions before opening the floor for public comment.

Under unfinished business, the council will hold a second reading of an ordinance amending Chapter 335 on vehicle and traffic regulations, and resolutions on capital improvement projects and the issuance of bonds for public improvements.

New business will include a resolution to appoint a city attorney, adopt public funds for employee rewards, and schedule a public hearing for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application supporting Heglovich LLC.

The session will conclude with board and commission appointments and reports from the mayor and council members. The public is encouraged to attend or tune in via the city’s YouTube channel.
