A fully involved pickup truck fire temporarily shut down part of the westbound New York State Thruway near mile marker 303 on Monday, prompting a multi-department response.
According to the Cayuga/Seneca Fire Wire, the fire was first reported at 11:42 a.m., with Weedsport Fire dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, first responders confirmed the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames and advised responding units to proceed with caution due to possible propane tanks inside the truck.

Crews worked efficiently to contain and extinguish the fire, with all Weedsport and Jordan units clearing the scene by 12:32 p.m. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
Traffic in the area was temporarily affected as emergency crews worked on the scene. Motorists were advised to use caution while traveling through the area.
