A Cayuga County woman was arrested on February 15 after deputies responded to reports of a vehicle being operated erratically in the Town of Throop.
According to Sheriff Brian Schenck, deputies were dispatched at 9:30 p.m. to State Street Road near Robinson Road, where they found a vehicle stopped in the middle of the road. The driver, later identified as 26-year-old Monica N. Lucio of Mentz, was taken into custody after an investigation determined she was intoxicated.
Lucio was transported to the Cayuga County Public Safety Building, where she provided a breath sample indicating a blood alcohol content of .19%, more than twice the legal limit. Due to the high BAC, she was charged with aggravated DWI, as well as first-offense DWI and other vehicle and traffic violations.
Lucio was issued traffic tickets and is scheduled to appear in Throop Town Court on February 25 at 6:00 p.m.
