Firefighters from Cheshire Volunteer Fire Department, alongside mutual aid from Bristol and VA Fire Departments, responded to a reported chimney fire on Wells Curtice Road in the Town of Canandaigua.

Upon arrival, responders found no visible signs of fire. Crews from units 431 and 412 entered the home to check for any fire spread, while unit 481 deployed its aerial to the roof for further inspection. Working swiftly and efficiently, firefighters determined there was no active fire in the chimney.
Following the response, Cheshire Fire reminded residents to take precautions with their chimneys as colder weather continues. They emphasized the importance of annual inspections and cleanings, maintaining working smoke detectors, and properly handling fireplace ashes to prevent potential hazards.
