The Benton Town Board will meet tonight at 7:00 p.m., starting with two public hearings on proposed local laws. One hearing will address a new short-term rental regulation, while the other focuses on updates to the town’s employment policy.
Following the hearings, the board will move to vote on key resolutions, including classifying the short-term rental law as a Type 1 action under State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) regulations. The board is also expected to decide on approving both the short-term rental and employment policy local laws.
Additional agenda items include discussions on a contract with Cintas, the town’s fire protection agreements, and a potential funding opportunity through New York State for Water District #7. Kelli Murphy and several other individuals have expressed interest in joining the town’s comprehensive planning efforts, which will also be reviewed during the meeting.
The board will close with routine business, including the approval of vouchers and reports.
Residents are encouraged to attend and share their input during the public hearings.
