According to a police release, officers responded to a domestic disturbance on Lincoln Street in Auburn late last week.
Authorities identified Majel Sheffield, 28, as the suspect in the incident. Investigators allege Sheffield was involved in a physical fight with another male before he proceeded to choke a juvenile during the altercation.
Sheffield was charged with second-degree strangulation and child endangerment. He was transported to the Cayuga County Jail, where prosecutors recommended he be held without bail.
