A Syracuse man was arrested last week in connection with the theft of power tool batteries from a Village of Cato hardware store.

According to Cayuga County Sheriff Brian Schenck, the investigation began on January 24, when a deputy responded to a report of larceny at the Country Boy Hardware store around 6:40 p.m. Security footage revealed that two 18-volt Milwaukee batteries, valued at $498, had been stolen. Deputies identified 35-year-old Eric T. Anderson as the suspect.

Anderson turned himself in at the Cayuga County Public Safety Building on February 8. He was charged with petit larceny, a misdemeanor under New York Penal Law 155.25. Due to multiple pending petit larceny cases, Anderson was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Part Court and released after posting $100 bail.

He was scheduled to appear in the Town of Ira Court on February 10.
