Hornell Fire Department receives new state-of-the-art fire truck

Hornell firefighters welcomed their new Engine 83 on Feb. 5 after delays caused by severe weather in Florida.

The E-One pumper, replacing a 25-year-old truck, is part of a $1.6 million investment in public safety. Firefighters quickly began outfitting the rig, which is expected to enter service within a week.

Mayor John Buckley emphasized the importance of modern, reliable equipment for protecting residents, thanking city officials and taxpayers for their support.

Officials noted the new truck’s enhanced safety features and rural-specific setup, calling it a vital upgrade to the fleet.
