  • Staff Report

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office has recognized Deputy Sheriff Sergeant Nicholas Yates for completing 15 years of dedicated service. Yates began his career with the department in January 2010 and was promoted to sergeant in July 2022.

Over the years, Yates has served in several key roles, including as a member of the Emergency Response Team and Snowmobile Patrol. However, his most rewarding experience, according to colleagues, was his time as a K-9 Deputy. Yates spent eight years in the role, handling two canine partners, Noris and Tomi.

The department expressed appreciation for Yates’ hard work and commitment to the citizens of Wayne County, and they look forward to his continued success within the office.
