The U.S. plans to seize a plane used by Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, currently in the Dominican Republic, during Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s visit to Santo Domingo, according to the Associated Press.

The Dassault Falcon 200, previously used for international trips by Maduro and his aides, is targeted over alleged sanctions violations.

Rubio approved a $230,000 waiver to cover storage fees for the seizure. This comes shortly after U.S. envoy Richard Grenell secured the release of six Americans detained in Venezuela.

The U.S. previously seized another Maduro-linked plane in 2024.
