OpenAI CEO Sam Altman signed a strategic deal with South Korea’s Kakao, allowing the tech giant to integrate ChatGPT into its services, including KakaoTalk and its ride-hailing app.
This partnership comes as OpenAI faces competition from Chinese rival DeepSeek, whose cutting-edge AI models have disrupted the global AI landscape.
Altman also held talks with Samsung and SK hynix to explore collaboration on AI memory chips.
DeepSeek’s rapid rise has sparked concerns over technology theft, prompting closer cooperation between OpenAI and U.S. authorities to safeguard its intellectual property.
