Corrections Officer Shane Donahue retired this week after 25 years of dedicated service at the Wayne County Jail, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office announced.
Donahue began his career with the department as a part-time officer in June 1999, transitioning to full-time in September of that year. In addition to his work at the jail, he has served as an active member of the military for more than 25 years.
Colleagues praised Donahue for his commitment and professionalism, highlighting his calm and positive demeanor in often challenging situations. His deep knowledge and willingness to go above and beyond in his duties have left a lasting impact on the department.
The Sheriff’s Office extended its gratitude to Donahue for his years of service. “His knowledge and expertise will be greatly missed,” they said in a statement.
