Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital will open a new urgent care facility on February 3, expanding healthcare access for residents of Penn Yan and surrounding communities.
Located on the hospital’s second floor, Urgent Care-Penn Yan will offer walk-in services for minor injuries and illnesses such as sprains, strains, allergies, and flu-like symptoms. The facility will initially operate Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with plans to extend its hours. No appointment is required, though patients can schedule ahead by calling 315-531-2020 or booking online at flhealth.org.
“This allows patients a more convenient way to receive the quality of care they expect from UR Medicine Finger Lakes Health when they need it,” said André Forcier, assistant vice president of the Physician Network. The addition is in response to community requests and part of the hospital’s ongoing mission to improve access to care, he explained.
The urgent care center is staffed by experienced physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and nurses. It also offers same-day results for rapid COVID, flu, and strep testing.
Urgent Care-Penn Yan joins two other UR Medicine Finger Lakes Health urgent care centers located in Geneva and Seneca Falls.
