John Burns has been promoted to regional vice president of Tops Friendly Markets’ East Region, reporting to John McCaffrey, the new senior vice president of operations. With over 30 years of grocery industry experience, Burns previously held roles including district manager and marketing manager. He will officially begin his new position in February.
Dan VanAuker, a 30-year Tops veteran, will succeed Burns as district manager for the NY/PA Midstate District. VanAuker, known for his leadership skills, has held positions such as Center Store specialist and store manager.
He will also assume his role in February, bringing extensive expertise and a business degree from Finger Lakes Community College.
