Marion Town Supervisor Summer Johnson announces re-election campaign

Marion Town Supervisor Summer Johnson has announced her campaign for re-election ahead of the 2025 local election cycle. The Republican incumbent, who won her first term in 2023 with record voter turnout, emphasized her commitment to continuing progress in Marion.

“I have a long to-do list, and I’m just getting started!” Johnson said in her announcement. “The citizens of Marion put faith in me, as reflected in the level of bipartisan support seen throughout my first term.”

Johnson, who also serves on the Wayne County Board of Supervisors, chairs the Health and Medical Committee, where she focuses on workforce development, fiscal operations, and interdepartmental collaboration. Locally, she has prioritized citizen concerns, strengthened community engagement, and worked to advance key projects.

Her campaign slogan, “Community over Competition,” reflects her dedication to transparency and fiscal responsibility. Johnson noted that her voting record underscores her focus on making decisions that benefit taxpayers and promote Marion’s growth.

Looking ahead, Johnson’s plans for a second term include increasing public safety, organizing more community events, and securing additional resources through grant applications. “I am ready to dig my heels in to promote Marion, NY, as a valuable town—a safe and friendly place to live and raise children,” she said.
