A Lyons man has been charged with a felony following a disturbance at the Wayne County Jail last month, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday.

Anthonie Lamagra, 23, of Water Street, was arrested after allegedly damaging jail property, including a glass entry door, shortly after his release on December 15. Deputies charged Lamagra with third-degree criminal mischief, a class E felony.

The incident reportedly stemmed from anger after his release. Following an investigation, deputies processed Lamagra at the sheriff’s office before releasing him with an appearance ticket.

Lamagra is scheduled to appear in the Town of Lyons Court on January 21 at 8:30 a.m.
