The site faces a $1.2 million deficit, $2 million in deferred maintenance, and an 85% drop in campers since 2015, according to reporting this week by The Auburn Citizen.
Described as a “sabbath,” the suspension includes minimal staffing while church leaders assess future options. Despite the pause, they clarified there are no plans to close or sell the property.
