A school bus carrying three students slid off the road and struck several trees Tuesday morning in Rushville, but no injuries were reported.
According to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the scene around 8:10 a.m. on State Route 247 near Mothersill Road in the Town of Potter.
The full-sized Penn Yan Central School District bus, operated by David R. Mulberger, 61, of Penn Yan, lost control due to winter road conditions and veered into a field before striking multiple trees.
The three child passengers, aged 12 to 17, were able to contact their parents by phone. Deputies confirmed that neither the driver nor the students sustained any injuries in the incident.
Deputy C. Hansen and Sgt. J. Rider responded to the scene. No other agencies were involved in the response, and no charges have been filed​.
