A 45-year-old Auburn man was arrested Friday after allegedly stealing merchandise from the Walmart store on North Road in Seneca Falls.
Daniel A. Jones was taken into custody by the Seneca Falls Police Department on January 3 after being observed collecting merchandise and passing all points of sale without attempting to pay.
Authorities said Jones had previously been issued a lawful order barring him from entering the store. Despite this order, he knowingly entered Walmart, remained inside, and committed the crime of petit larceny.
Jones was charged with burglary in the third degree, a Class D felony, and petit larceny, a misdemeanor. He was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to return to Seneca Falls Town Court at a later date.
