Fire crews from multiple agencies responded to a structure fire Thursday morning after an attached garage went up in flames at a home on Nibawauka Beach in the Town of Gorham.
The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office said deputies arrived at the scene around 10 a.m. to find the garage fully engulfed. Crews from Crystal Beach, Gorham, Rushville, and Canandaigua fire departments worked together to contain the fire, with assistance from the Ontario County and Yates County fire coordinators.
Authorities said the cause of the fire does not appear suspicious at this time, though an investigation remains ongoing. No injuries were reported, and all occupants of the residence were able to evacuate safely.
The extent of the damage to the home has not yet been disclosed.
Officials praised the coordinated effort of the responding fire departments and reminded residents to ensure their homes are equipped with functioning smoke detectors.
