BILLS GAME WEEK: Buffalo looks to lock up AFC’s No. 2 seed with win over Jets Sunday (preview)

It’s Week 17 in the NFL, and the Buffalo Bills (12-3) are set to host the New York Jets (4-11) on Sunday at 1 p.m. as they aim to secure the No. 2 seed in the AFC.

Buffalo’s slim hopes of overtaking the Kansas City Chiefs for the top spot in the conference ended on Christmas Day when Kansas City defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 29-10. To lock in the second seed, the Bills need just one more win in their final two games or a loss by the Baltimore Ravens, who will face the Cleveland Browns in their last game of the season.

The Bills enter the matchup riding a two-game winning streak, including a narrow 24-21 victory over the New England Patriots, who they will face again next week. Meanwhile, the Jets, are coming off a 19-9 loss to the Los Angeles Rams.

The teams have split their last two season series, with the Jets being the only AFC East team to defeat Buffalo once in each of the past two years. The Bills have won their last four home games against them, a streak that began after a 13-6 loss in the 2019 season finale, when they rested most of their starters after the first quarter. Buffalo has gone 16-8 in their last 24 meetings with the Jets.

Jim Nantz (play-by-play), Tony Romo (analyst), and Tracy Wolfson (sideline reporter) will have the call on CBS.
