Auburn announces holiday trash and recycling schedule changes

Auburn city officials have announced adjustments to the trash and recycling pickup schedule for the final weeks of 2024 due to the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. Residents are urged to review the modified schedules and look out for the Streamline Recycling Calendar for 2025, which is arriving in mailboxes this week.

During Christmas week, pickup for residents with regular Tuesday and Wednesday collection days will occur one day earlier. Tuesday pickups will move to Monday, December 23, and Wednesday pickups will shift to Tuesday, December 24. There will be no service on Christmas Day, Wednesday, December 25. Thursday and Friday collections remain unchanged. Additionally, there will be no leaf or yard waste collection on Monday, December 23.


For New Year’s week, a similar adjustment will occur. Tuesday pickups will take place on Monday, December 30, and Wednesday pickups will move to Tuesday, December 31. There will be no service on New Year’s Day, Wednesday, January 1, 2025. Thursday and Friday collections will remain on their regular schedule. Leaf and yard waste pickup will also be suspended on Monday, December 30.

City officials encourage residents to plan accordingly and check their mail for the updated recycling calendar to ensure compliance with the adjusted schedules.
