The City of Auburn has announced changes to its trash and recycling collection schedule for the weeks of Christmas and New Year’s Day, with pickups moving a day earlier for some residents. The adjustments will affect those with regular collection days on Tuesday and Wednesday.
For Christmas week, the collection schedule is as follows:
- Residents with a usual pickup on Tuesday will have their trash and recycling collected on Monday, December 23.
- Residents with a usual pickup on Wednesday will be serviced on Tuesday, December 24.
- There will be no collection on Christmas Day, Wednesday, December 25.
- Thursday and Friday pickups remain unchanged and will occur on December 26 and 27, respectively.
Leaf and yard waste collection will also be suspended on Monday, December 23 due to the holiday.
For New Year’s week, the collection schedule is similarly adjusted:
- Residents with a usual pickup on Tuesday will have collection on Monday, December 30.
- Residents with a usual pickup on Wednesday will be serviced on Tuesday, December 31.
- There will be no collection on New Year’s Day, Wednesday, January 1.
- Thursday and Friday pickups remain unchanged and will occur on January 2 and 3, respectively.
Leaf and yard waste collection will not occur on Monday, December 30 due to the New Year’s holiday.
City officials are reminding residents to place their bins out early on the adjusted collection days and to plan accordingly for the holiday schedule. Regular trash and recycling services will resume as usual after the holidays.
