A Town of Ontario man faces multiple charges following an investigation into a payroll fraud scheme that allegedly took place over several weeks at Blue Heron Country Club.

Patrick J. Ridgway, 35, of Knickerbocker Road, was arrested after deputies determined he had been clocking into work while at home and receiving pay for hours he did not work. The fraudulent activity reportedly occurred between Oct. 14 and Nov. 10, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

Ridgway was charged with three counts of falsifying business records in the second degree and three counts of petit larceny. Deputies took Ridgway into custody and transported him to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office for processing, where he was fingerprinted and photographed.

Ridgway was later released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Walworth Town Court on Jan. 27 at 9 a.m. to respond to the charges.
