Zuzu’s Petals Project launches during festival weekend

The It’s a Wonderful Life Festival weekend will kick off with the launch of the Zuzu’s Petals Project, unveiled at a 10 a.m. press conference Friday at 32 Fall St. Karolyn Grimes, who played Zuzu Bailey in the beloved film, will lead the event, joined by Jimmy Hawkins (Tommy Bailey), Donald Collins (Peter Bailey), and officials from the It’s a Wonderful Life Museum.

The project invites people nationwide to create Zuzu petals — flower-like symbols of hope — for the museum’s expansion. Visitors will be able to take a petal or leave one for others, continuing the film’s message of hope and the importance of every individual. Mrs. New York America 2024, Victoria Wejko, will also participate.

Five stations will be set up during the festival, encouraging attendees to spread hope. For more details, contact the museum at 315-568-5838 or [email protected].
