A man is facing charges after turning in his father’s body to the Livingston County government center late Monday night, according to sheriff’s deputies. The deceased, 60-year-old Richard Fluegel of Irondequoit, had been reported missing the day before. His body had gunshot wounds.
The victim’s son, 30-year-old Richard Fluegel, was charged with felony tampering with physical evidence. Sheriff Thomas Dougherty said more charges are expected as search warrants are executed and evidence is gathered.
The elder Fluegel disappeared Sunday afternoon, prompting a missing person’s report. His car was found the next day at a Tops grocery store in Dansville. Around 11:40 p.m. Monday, 911 received a call from someone in the sheriff’s office parking lot who wished to turn in a body.
