Lord & Taylor, the 198-year-old department store, is making a comeback as an online discount luxury platform. New owner Regal Brands Global plans to relaunch the brand in 2025, offering designer goods, womenswear, footwear, and Lord & Taylor-branded products, according to Business of Fashion.
The e-commerce platform will source inventory from distributors and licensees, focusing on off-price retailing rather than reopening physical stores. Regal Brands aims to sell Lord & Taylor products through high-end retailers like Saks Fifth Avenue and Nordstrom, following trends set by TJ Maxx.
After shuttering in 2020 during the pandemic, the brand’s revival targets quality and variety, hoping to regain relevance in modern retail.
