Speaker Johnson Condemns Threats Against Trump Nominees as ‘Dangerous and Unhinged’

House Speaker Mike Johnson denounced recent threats targeting President-elect Trump’s nominees and their families, calling them “dangerous and unhinged,” according to The Hill.

Johnson urged President Biden and Democratic leaders to condemn the incidents, which include bomb threats and “swatting” at the homes of at least four Trump appointees ahead of Thanksgiving.

Targets included Rep. Elise Stefanik, nominated for U.N. ambassador, and former Rep. Lee Zeldin, Trump’s pick for the EPA, who reported a pipe bomb threat with a “pro-Palestinian” message. Law enforcement responded swiftly, clearing all areas of concern.

Johnson highlighted prior assassination attempts on Trump, emphasizing the urgent need for bipartisan condemnation of such acts.
