Wayne County supervisors approve salary increases, public hearing set for December

  • / Updated:
  • Staff Report

The Wayne County Board of Supervisors approved a 4% salary increase for its members and other county officials during its regular meeting on November 19. Starting in 2025, Board members’ salaries will rise to $19,041, with the Chairman earning $25,651. For 2026, these amounts will increase to $19,802 and $25,677, respectively.

Mileage reimbursement remains at the IRS rate of 67¢ per mile for county business. Walworth Supervisor Michael Donalty recused himself, later voicing concerns about self-approved raises without independent oversight.

The Board also finalized adjustments to salaries for key county positions, citing challenges in filling vacancies and maintaining competitiveness. New annual salaries include $172,869 for the County Administrator, $163,084 for the County Attorney, and $137,399 for the Sheriff.

These changes are subject to a public hearing scheduled for December 3 at 7:00 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors’ Chambers. Additional wage adjustments for union positions, including nursing staff and Sheriff’s Deputies, will be addressed in future discussions.
