Newark man charged with impaired driving after Palmyra crash investigation

A Newark man has been charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs following an investigation into a two-car crash that occurred in Palmyra last month.

Dylan DePauw, 24, of McDermott Street in the Village of Newark, was arrested by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office after toxicology reports confirmed the presence of THC in his system at the time of the crash.

The crash, which prompted the investigation, revealed DePauw was operating his vehicle under the influence of drugs. Deputy B. Profetta conducted the investigation leading to the charge.

DePauw was processed at the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and released with traffic tickets. He is scheduled to appear in Palmyra Town Court at a later date to respond to the charges.
