Microsoft has finally released official Windows 11 ISOs for Arm64 PCs, marking a significant step for the platform. The ISOs, featuring version 24H2, are available on Microsoft’s website for use on virtual machines or as clean installation media for Arm64-based PCs, including the latest Snapdragon X Copilot+ systems.
While newer devices with Snapdragon X chips can boot the ISOs without issue, older PCs, such as those using Snapdragon 8cx Gen3-based SQ3 processors, require users to integrate drivers manually. This process involves obtaining hardware-specific drivers, modifying the ISO with DISM tools, and rebuilding the installation media—a complicated task for non-technical users.
Despite this challenge, the move underscores Microsoft’s commitment to making Windows on Arm a first-class platform in 2024.
