Bills acquire WR Amari Cooper in trade with Browns

Josh Allen has a new weapon as the Buffalo Bills announced Tuesday that they have acquired wide receiver Amari Cooper and a 2025 sixth-round pick from the Cleveland Browns in exchange for a 2025 third-round pick and a 2026 seventh-round pick.

The move comes just hours after the New York Jets acquired Devante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders.

According to Mike Ginnitti of Spotrac.com, Cooper’s cap hit will be under $1 million because Cleveland converted almost all of his 2024 salary into an offseason signing bonus.

Cooper, 30, has caught 24 passes for 250 yards and two touchdowns through six games this season, but the Browns rank 30th in scoring at 15.8 points per game and are among the league’s worst in most passing statistical categories.

The five-time Pro Bowler has surpassed the 1,000-yard mark in seven of his nine seasons in the NFL.
