Could Wells College become a boarding school? Investor says so, but community in the dark

Ithaca investment banker Dr. Alan Biloski has proposed repurposing the recently closed Wells College into a boarding school for K-12 students.

The Auburn Citizen reports Biloski’s plan suggests options including international students or low-income rural children, modeled after schools like Milton Hershey School and Keystone Academy.

Despite positive feedback from a college committee, Wells has not accepted the proposal, opting instead to explore other alternatives through a formal request for proposals.

It’s unclear what will come next as Wells hasn’t communicated with the community since its closure.
