No injuries reported in Phelps after house fire

A fire broke out at a home on State Route 14 in Phelps on Friday around 6:00 p.m., prompting a swift response from local fire departments. Firefighters from the City of Geneva and Oaks Corners Fire Departments worked to contain the fire, which was located in the southeast corner of the house.

Homeowners Christina Santelli, 61, and Michael Santelli, 58, safely evacuated the residence along with their dog after a passerby noticed the flames and alerted them. No injuries were reported.

State Route 14 was closed for approximately three hours while crews worked to secure the scene. Finger Lakes Ambulance and Phelps Ambulance were also on standby during the incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
