Alphabet Inc., Google’s parent company, reported another quarter of strong growth, driven by new AI features in its search engine. The second-quarter results show Alphabet’s revenue increased 14% from last year to $84.74 billion, with profits rising 29% to $23.62 billion.
The AI feature, introduced in May, provides conversational responses to search queries, a shift that has raised concerns among online publishers. However, Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai remains optimistic, highlighting AI’s potential to transform society and enhance Google’s services.
Google’s cloud-computing division also performed well, reaching $10.3 billion in revenue, a 29% increase. Despite these gains, Google is still facing a high-profile antitrust case from the U.S. Justice Department.
