A woman was arrested after her two-year-old child was found wandering alone in the Village of Phelps. Michelle L. Lead, 32, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
Police responded to a welfare check on July 6, 2024, at 20 South Wayne St. They found Lead’s child walking alone on Main St. and Church St., without shoes or a shirt.
Lead was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Ontario County Jail. A refrain from Order of Protection was requested for the child.
