The Auburn City Council will vote this week on a $570,000 addition to the city’s road paving program to repave a rough portion of State Street. The funding, reimbursed by the state Department of Transportation, will cover the portion between Perrine and West Garden streets.
Northern Asphalt, the contractor for the $1.7 million paving program, will handle the work. This decision follows confirmation that Auburn will receive nearly $3.5 million in state transportation funds, allowing for additional projects.
Auburn Mayor Jimmy Giannettino told The Citizen he supports the repaving, addressing long-standing issues on the busy thoroughfare.
