The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a woman following a kidnapping investigation in the City of Rochester. Yashira Cruz, 40, of Joseph Ave in Rochester, faces multiple charges, including Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Reckless Endangerment.
Cruz was arrested after allegedly leading deputies on a pursuit through the Town of Williamson on State Route 21. During the chase, she had two young children in the vehicle and refused to stop despite deputies’ emergency lights and sirens.
Cruz was processed at the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and released on appearance tickets. She was then turned over to the Rochester Police Department. Cruz is scheduled to appear in Williamson Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
