Penn Yan man arrested twice in two days for using fake $100 bills in Seneca Falls

Police arrested a Penn Yan man twice on back-to-back days after he used fake $100 bills at a business in Seneca Falls.

Seneca Falls Police arrested Arcangel Soler, 55, from Penn Yan, on July 2 after businesses reported receiving fake $100 bills. Soler faces multiple charges, including Attempted Petit Larceny, Petit Larceny, Bail Jumping in the Third Degree, and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the First Degree.

Earlier, Soler was arrested on July 1 on warrants for failing to appear in court on previous petit larceny and conspiracy charges dating back to 2022. He had been released with an appearance ticket but did not attend his court date, leading to the bench warrants.

Soler is currently held at the Seneca County Correctional Facility and will be arraigned on the new charges.
