Wells College alumni are demanding more information about the sudden closure of their 156-year-old alma mater.
The Cleveland Commission for Wells, formed after the closure announcement on April 29, has requested details from the college, its board of trustees, and the Wells College Association of Alumnae and Alumni, according to The Citizen.
The commission, represented by the Rochester law firm Harter Secrest & Emery, has warned of potential litigation if the college doesn’t cooperate. Jill Porter, a 1986 graduate and commission co-chair, emphasized the alumni’s commitment to transparency and accountability.
