Auburn school board approves new superintendent and contract

The Auburn Enlarged City School District Board has approved an agreement with Dr. Misty Slavic as the new superintendent. Slavic’s term begins on September 1, with an annual salary of $195,000.

Current Superintendent Jeff Pirozzolo will retire on January 5 but will assist Slavic as deputy superintendent, focusing on capital projects.

Slavic, who previously served as superintendent in Pennsylvania, expressed her excitement about joining Auburn. “This is a dream job for me. I love the community, and everyone has been so welcoming and kind,” she said.
