Waterloo police say a 66-year-old was taken into custody after a rape investigation in the village of Waterloo.
Daniel T. Smith, 66, was arrested on May 30 for rape, strangulation, and forcible touching, according to the Waterloo Police Department.
The charges stem from an April 7 incident where Smith allegedly choked the victim, punched her in the face, and forced her to undress before having sexual intercourse with her.
Smith was taken to the Seneca County Correctional Facility for arraignment, and an order of protection was requested for the victim.
