Auburn City Ambulance (ACA) will now provide ambulance services to the Town of Owasco following a recent City Council vote. The agreement includes a $250,000 compensation from Owasco to ACA.
City Manager Jeff Dygert assured Mayor Jimmy Giannettino that the expansion would not impact ACA’s service reliability in Auburn. A staffed ambulance will be stationed at the Owasco Fire Department daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with housing costs covered by the town or fire district.
This agreement follows the withdrawal of American Medical Response’s services in Cayuga County at the end of 2023, creating a need for reliable ambulance coverage in the area. Auburn has operated its own ambulance service since 2021.
