An Oswego County Assistant District Attorney, Thomas Christopher, was arrested early Wednesday for driving while ability impaired (DWAI).
New York State Police reported that Christopher, 65, lost control of his vehicle on Chipman Lane, struck a rock, and ended up in a ditch after hitting a culvert pipe. He then left the scene of the accident.
Christopher faces charges of driving while ability impaired, leaving the scene of property damage, and multiple traffic violations. His DWAI charge is a felony due to a prior DWI in 2018. He has been suspended from his position pending further investigation, according to District Attorney Anthony J. DiMartino. A special prosecutor has been assigned to the case.
