The Bloomfield softball team kept its season alive and inched closer to its first state title with a 2-0 victory over Section VI’s Westfield in the Class C Far West Regional on Friday night at Webster Schroeder High School.
The Bombers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning on Calla McComb’s RBI single and a fielding error, and that was all they needed as the pitching was outstanding.
Bloomfield will play in the State Final Four against the winner of Tuckahoe (I) and Pine Plains (IX) on Friday, June 7, at Martha Recreational Park. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
