The incident occurred on school grounds and led to charges of criminal possession of a weapon on school grounds, a Class E Felony.

Authorities were alerted to the presence of the firearm following a report at the event. Upon investigation, police confirmed the rifle was in Shoff’s vehicle. He was subsequently taken into custody and processed at the local police department.
