The Cayuga Economic Development Agency (CEDA) is set to undergo significant changes following recommendations from a consultant’s report.

According to The Citizen, Camoin Associates, led by Dan Gundersen, presented findings to the Cayuga County Legislature, suggesting a series of reforms including the hiring of a new executive director and the restructuring of its board of directors.

The report, which is not yet public, was detailed in an 88-page document with 34 specific recommendations aimed at improving the agency’s effectiveness. During a county legislature meeting, Gundersen emphasized the need for CEDA to evolve to better serve the economic needs of Cayuga County.

In light of these recommendations, all four employees of CEDA have been laid off, with plans to hire a new executive director who will be responsible for assembling a new team.
