Deputies provided an update on a motor vehicle accident that happened at 5&20 and Spangle Street around 3:45 p.m. on Friday.

According to a news release, first responders were called to a two-car crash near that intersection in Hopewell.

William Parker, 61, of Farmington, was traveling east on 5&20 when they slowed to make a left turn into a driveway east of Spangle Street. That’s when Kaitly Hubright, 31, of Geneva, failed to slow down and slammed into the rear of Parker’s SUV.

Deputies said Parker suffered internal injuries and his passenger was released at the scene.

Meanwhile, Hubright was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital with head and leg injuries. She was also cited for following too closely.

Finger Lakes Ambulance, Canandaigua Emergency Squad, Hopewell Fire Department, and New York State Police assisted at the scene.

That area of 5&20 was closed for more than an hour after the crash.
